I also really love the clothing you drew and how everything is tied very nicely together like a cohesive image should be. I’m a big fan of the font choice and even the golden aspect to the font – here’s where I have to be nitpicky: the spelling of Goddess has two d’s so that threw me, and the black stroke takes away from the ethereal feel of the image. I honestly think the font would have rocked with a bevel or embossed effect – kind of how real book covers have a raised effect on the cover text. Overall, though, this is great and it would make for a really cool book idea I’m sure. |

Photo Presentation: 9/10 Overall Creativity: 12/15 High Fashion: 10/10 Judge's Preference: 4.5/5 Total: 45/50 Wowzers, Udele looks great for this cover! The first thing I notice is that you misspelled "Goddess" but that's super minor. A lot of people misspell it that way. I didn't take off for it. I love how the fabric draping off her seems to convey the colors of different colors of clouds in different times of day and what isn't in her outfit is in the background. I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of Udele or her background or anything. From a typography standpoint (and I'm going to try not to rip this apart, remember typography is part of how I make a living...) I do love the mix of serif (the byline) and sans-serif (the cursive title.) But I just have to say that the black stroke over the title is not necessary. It makes it too harsh, less cloud-goddess-y. I personally might have tried either an outer glow (and maybe try an inner glow too to make it really heavenly) or just killed the type effect all together so that it was just gold letters. Even without a stroke or glow or shadow, the type is a great color (good choice there!) and would have been visible by itself. But I kinda like the idea of trying a glow. Or if your heart was set on a stroke, maybe a more pale gold one to make it kind of fade in with the image, and make it at 2pt or even 1pt rather than really thick like it is here. Overall very nice, me like! |

Photo Presentation: 8/10 Overall Creativity: 12/15 High Fashion: 8/10 Judge's Preference: 4.5/5 Total: 42/50 I absolutely adore the look on Melina’s face. Along with that fun use of her hands, the pose rocks as a whole. It’s playful, mischievous, and perfect for what I think your book might be about. I also really like the raised/bevel/embossed effect on the text because it’s very much like actual font on a real life cover (the kind of text you can feel). What I would suggest, however, is giving the font a lighter color. It is very difficult to read the author’s name here. Perhaps a lighter shade of blue – like the magical color between her hands. I would also have liked a better background choice. I think something forest-y since Wicca is often times associated with nature. |

Photo Presentation: 8.5/10 Overall Creativity: 13/15 High Fashion: 8/10 Judge's Preference: 4/5 Total: 42.5/50 Hmm, I don't see anything about Wicca here lol. (I was raised Wiccan (am not anymore but anyway)... This is more like MMO magic...) But that aside. I think the high fashion aspect could have really been upped. It just feels safe. I feel like to fit with the magic it needs to be a little more out there, the styling. It's not bad; it's just not wowing to me. The magic effect is done very well though. And I love the lighting of the cover so much, lights and shadows are playing well with each other. However, that kind of makes the text very hard to see! At first I almost thought there wasn't even a title and byline from first glance. So I absolutely adore the font but the colors aren't doing it for me because it's so hard to read with the shadowing. I'd just brighten it up significantly, try to match the colors of blue on the text with the blue coming out of her fingers to both make it more readable, and to tie it in with the cover as a whole. The whole text portion needs to be moved up just a tad because the tail of the Y in "by" touches the edge of the cover and that's a no-no when you're making covers or posters and whatnot. It needs to be one with the cover, not trying to sneak out of it. But I love this overall. |

Photo Presentation: 9/10 Overall Creativity: 13/15 High Fashion: 8/10 Judge's Preference: 4.5/5 Total: 42/50 This is a perfect rendition of a book cover. I reminds me completely of what I would expect to see on the cover of a book. It’s got a film noir feel to it, even though it’s a book. I love the way the cover also kind of fades from sepia to color. I also like the ripple effect happening to mirror the water below the city skyline. What I’m not a fan of is the size of the photo (it’s quite small) and it’s very grainy and pixelated. I’m not sure if it was intentional, but it all looks very choppy and grainy. It is a great rendition though. Good job. |

Photo Presentation: 8/10 Overall Creativity: 12/15 High Fashion: 8/10 Judge's Preference: 3.5/5 Total: 39/50 I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the high fashion aspect for this. Lexx doesn't seem to be so high fashion, and I can see that she has a necklace but it looks like it's shadowed or something. Maybe she could have had a red lipstick before you desaturated the photo so that it looked like she had something sultry on. I am honestly not a fan of the text you used for the title; it looks too industrial for a book about love, as I take this to be. And the byline also takes away from the title because they're both so stylized and it just doesn't work. I do however really love the pose the couple is taking behind the city skyline. You did really well with that. So with different fonts, I think this would have been perfect. |

I really like this idea and how you conveyed movement in this with the grainy effect and the curve of her leather vest. Victoria really looks excellent. I have no idea what your title is or the tagline, but I’m sure it rocks. I also love the lightning crackling behind her. I have nothing to complain about here – this is a great movie poster for an action movie. |

Photo Presentation: 10/10 Overall Creativity: 13/15 High Fashion: 8.5/10 Judge's Preference: 5/5 Total: 46/50 Love it in German! The tagline is very clever. From what I can tell. I don't know, I didn't translate it; I just speak somewhat conversational German so I could work out what it says. Wouldn't want her coming for me, that's for sure! Victoria looks like she could be a very high fashion hitman or something. Or hitwoman. Is there a term for a female hitman? At first I didn't like the overlay effect, the cracks and scratches and that, but now I'm kind of fond of them. They add a sense of movement and turn it into a modern film noir type effect. Your typography is FLAWLESS. I cannot find any fault with the words on this poster. And I have a degree that tells people that I know how to find flaws in type! Awesome job. The one thing I'm not as much of a fan of is the makeup. It kind of doesn't work for the color scheme of the poster; I'd see her in more reddish tones of blush and lipstick. A bit darker. The eyes could stay how they are though. But yes, this is quite awesome! |
